Due to the high demand for checked baggage on the Madrid – Santo Domingo route and the issues that have recently arisen as a result of excessive demand, and in order to ensure the proper transport of our customers’ checked baggage, we are obliged to introduce a limitation on the baggage allowed in the hold on itineraries that include any Madrid–Santo Domingo (MAD–SDQ) or Santo Domingo–Madrid (SDQ–MAD) segment.

Accordingly, the following limitations will apply to passengers who have purchased their tickets on the Madrid–Santo Domingo (MAD–SDQ) or Santo Domingo–Madrid (SDQ–MAD) routes on the dates indicated below:

• Tickets purchased from January 22, 2026 (inclusive): a maximum of 3 checked bags will be allowed (the corresponding exceptions will apply for Iberia Club Plata members and above who are entitled to additional checked baggage beyond their allowance).

This measure is aimed at optimizing the service and the available capacity. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you informed of any changes.
