Maintenance works at Chile Airport

Due to maintenance works taking place on the main runway at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport in Santiago de Chile (SCL), from 21 September to 3 November 2026, we are required to modify our operation.

In order to comply with the safety requirements established by both Iberia and the relevant authorities, the flight IB118 from Santiago de Chile to Madrid will include a technical stop in Rio de Janeiro for refuelling purposes.

This rescheduling only affects flight IB118. The rest of the operation, as well as flights departing from Madrid, will remain unchanged.

For this reason, although Iberia is not responsible for this reprogramming, we are launching the following commercial flexibility, applicable to customers with issued tickets who may wish to change their travel plans due to this situation.

Important Information	One involuntary ticket change allowed Return/Onward sectors on IB may be rebooked under these guidelines, into the same cabin as original, same class or lowest available For customers on cancelled IB flights, standard Customer Handling Guidelines will apply.
