Temporary Suspension of flights to Cuba

Iberia will temporarily suspend its direct flights to Cuba starting in June due to the situation the country has been experiencing for several months, which has significantly affected demand. Flight sales remain open from November onward, the month in which the airline intends to resume the route, provided that conditions allow it.
During the month of April, Iberia will operate three weekly frequencies between Madrid and Cuba. In May, the airline will reduce its schedule to two weekly flights, and starting in June, direct operations on this route will be temporarily suspended.
While this suspension is in effect, Iberia customers will be able to fly to Panama and, from there, continue their journey to Cuba thanks to the codeshare agreement with Copa Airlines.
Iberia’s offices in Havana will remain open to assist customers. It is worth noting that, since February 9, operations had already been affected by the conditions on the island, making it necessary to perform a technical stop in Santo Domingo for refueling on return flights to Madrid.
This temporary suspension affects Cuba exclusively, due to its exceptional situation. Iberia continues to operate normally on all other routes and, looking ahead to this summer, will offer a record 21.4 million seats.
