Although Iberia does not allow name changes once a ticket has been issued, it does allow corrections if there is a transcription error.
Thus, you can correct the name/surname on your customer's ticket free of charge when there has been a typographical or transcription error and the following requirements are met:
1.
Tickets with IB code (075).
2.
Tickets including flights operated by IB, I2 and YW / code-share flights with VY, BA and AA.
3.
Tickets that have not yet started to fly,
At the end of this section you will find a list of accepted typing or transcription errors, and the relevant clarifications on NDC tickets, resident tickets, partially flown tickets and INF tickets.
1.
Contact Serviagencies to arrange for the possible correction of the ticket.
2.
Serviagencias will assess whether or not this is appropriate, or if it requires authorisation from the GDS. In either case, you must:
• Include correct name in the reservation (PNR) with transaction SR OTHS IB-correct name Garcia/Francisco.
• Reissue the ticket in all cases, at the time Serviagencias makes the correction.
• Compound names: add first or middle name. E.g.: Carmen for María Carmen or for Carmen María.
• Modification of up to three (3) letters of the first or last name. E.g.: Martín for Martínez. E.g.: Clara for Sara.
• Modification of the name to translate it into an official language. E.g.: Jorge for Jordi. E.g.: Pere for Pedro.
• Change of position of the surname and/or first name. E.g.: Vargas Pérez for Pérez Vargas. E.g.: Antonio Manuel for Manuel Antonio.
• Change of position between first name and surname. E.g.: Alonso Vázquez/Julián for Julián Vázquez/Alonso. E.g.: Martín/Alonso for Alonso/Martín.
• Inclusion of one of the surnames, leaving the first name and the other surname the same. E.g.: Martín/Antonio for Martín Segura/Antonio.
• Errors in the transcription of the NDC name. For bookings made through NDC, the agency will have the possibility of correcting up to three (3) characters in the first name/surname in self-service without having to contact Iberia. For the rest of the permitted cases, you will have to contact the NDC customer service channel.
• Tickets issued with a Residence subsidy. As a SARA check must be carried out for reissue, it is possible to apply the same policy as for tickets without a resident discount.
• Partially flown tickets. On a partially flown ticket we will not be able to authorise any name correction.
• Infant tickets (INF). Correction will be permitted when the INF ticket has taken the surname of the adult with whom it is associated, and not the surname of the parent.
